missions overview

Commit: “Jesus sends us out to serve others and share the Gospel.”

We are a church that responds to Jesus’ call to carry out his mission in the world. The purpose of the Alleluia! mission program is: "To enable all to commit to Jesus through the engagement of time, talent and treasure in Alleluia!’s mission efforts." Our vision is of an Alleluia! community that is actively engaged and making a visible impact by lifting people out of all forms of poverty (economic, emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual poverty) through personal and congregational involvement.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Through Operation Christmas Child we fill shoeboxes with various items (school supplies, toys, hygiene items) and send them to children living in poverty around the world.  They not only receive these items but the Good News of God’s Son being born into the world for our sake.

The collection is currently ongoing through November 23, 2020.  You can pack a physical box and drop it off in the Alleluia! Underpass on Sunday, November 15 or Sunday, November 22 between 9:00AM and 6:00PM.  Or, you can deliver it to one of the area drop-off centers at various times throughout the week.

LOAVES & FISHES COMMUNITY SERVICES

Loaves & Fishes provides food and hope to residents of Naperville and DuPage County whose financial circumstances make it difficult to provide food for themselves and their families. They distribute over 60,000 pounds of groceries each week, and depend on a network of over 1000 volunteers to collect, sort, stock shelves, and assist clients. Loaves & Fishes also partners with local organizations to offer a holistic approach to meet the needs of those they serve offering services in areas such as nutrition, mental health, employment assistance and skills, financial and computer literacy, and language skills.

Moving Up is a 16 week course during which Loaves and Fishes clients, called investigators, learn skills, gain support, and make goals for their lives. They move from “getting by” to “Moving UP”.  Alleluia! is a primary sponsor of the Moving Up Program.

Mentors are needed to meet with participants on a weekly basis to encourage and support them.  Contact Pastor Mark to find out more about this impactful volunteer opportunity.

FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God's children who are hungry in both body and spirit.  FMSC utilizes volunteers of all ages to hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children.  These meals are then sent to nearly 70 countries around the world.

CLICK HERE to ask to be put on the Alleluia! Evite list to receive invitations to these regular events.  Alleluia! group volunteer events are currently suspended due to restrictions on the number of people that can volunteer in a group (5 max).  However, you can volunteer directly with FMSC by clicking HERE.

FEED THE NEED is a community-wide mobilepack event through FMSC held at the Res/Rec Center on the campus of North Central College during February each year.  The 2021 event will be a fundraiser instead of an in person event.  Watch for more info as the date gets closer.

HOPE INTERNATIONAL’s mission is to invest in the dreams of families in the world’s underserved communities as we proclaim and live the Gospel.  One of the primary ways they do this is through a model of Savings Groups operating out of local congregations in impoverished areas.  Alleluia! supports the HOPE Savings Group program in Comas, Peru.

RUN WITH A MISSION 5K

In 2020, due to Covid-19, Alleluia! shifted from an in-person run/walk to an online campaign to raise awareness of and funds for Alleluia!
