At Alleluia! we have "faith milestones" for 1st grade through 5th grade. These are VERY important times in a child's FAITH development. At each milestone, the child's knowledge and love for Jesus continues to grow. All faith milestone instruction is achieved using age appropriate materials. We encourage you to contact Ms. Michele or Ms. April with any questions.
1st Grade: "The Lord's Prayer"
Jesus taught his disciples the Lord's Prayer. There is some verbiage that might be unfamiliar to children. We look at different versions of The Lord's Prayer and explain that there is NO PERFECT PRAYER. Games and other activities teach the first graders what this prayer is all about! This faith milestone takes place in May of each year.
2nd Grade: "The Ten Commandments"
Moses met God on Mt. Sinai/Horeb (book of Deuteronomy) and was given the Ten Commandments. These were given as "life milestones" to guide us throughout our lives. Music, games, and other activities will be used to help our second graders instill these in their own lives. This faith milestone takes place in October of each year.
3rd Grade: "Bible Presentation"
Any child in 3rd grade or above is invited to receive a Bible during any of our worship services on Bible Presentation weekend in September. After the presentation, all recipients can join KidsConnect leaders to decorate their Bibles. We encourage all children 3rd grade and above to bring their Bibles to KidsConnect each week as we will use our Bibles during that time. Cost is $20 per child which covers the cost of the Bible.
4th Grade: "First Communion"
First Communion instruction is designed for children 4th-6th grade. This instruction is led by Pastor Mark and other Alleluia! staff with parent volunteers as small group discussion leaders. First Communion takes place each year during Holy Week.
5th Grade: "Created By God"
Created By God is a Christian-based sexuality course designed for 5th and 6th grade students. We value this opportunity to offer human sexuality instruction in the context of Christian values. There is a mandatory parent orientation prior to our student sessions to offer parents the opportunity to view materials and ask questions. CBG takes place yearly in January.
CONNECT45 is a special club for 4th and 5th Graders! This exciting program will not only foster faith growth, but will serve as a bridge into the middle school H2H program at Alleluia!
This year Connect45 will begin as a virtual experience for 4th & 5th graders. We will start on Wednesday, Oct 7th at 4pm on Zoom.
