Taekwondo Minimize

Taekwondo is a striking-based martial art that originated in Korea.  Being one of only two martial arts accepted as an official sport in the Olympic games, Taekwondo has risen in popularity.  It has been estimated that there are more than 30 million Taekwondo practitioners in over 123 different countries today.

Taekwondo is divided into three distinct areas:  sport (Olympic sparring), traditional (Forms or "poomsae"), and practical (Self defense or free sparring).  To be a complete Taekwondo student, one must practice not only in the sport aspect but also its traditional and practical aspects.

Training is not only limited to the physical.  A martial artist also needs an equally strong mind.  Through rigorous practice and repetition, the student gains self-discipline and self-confidence in knowing that they are able to accomplish their goals.  By example, we lead our students in following the tenets of Taekwondo: courtesy/respect, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit.

Our Taekwondo program is taught by Master Jonathan Sanchez and Instructors Rebecca LaGrassa and Trieu Hoang.
