Private music instruction is another "tool" that connects the neural pathways
in the brain. A new "language" is learned as these new pathways are carved. This new language leads to enhancing other academic areas in the brain. Learning to make music can be a fulfilling and valuable skill, and a wonderful way of expressing one’s self.
Two 15-week sessions are available throughout the year; fall/winter and spring/summer,
as well as a short summer series. Each lesson will contain 30 minutes of uninterrupted time.
Two makeups are allowed in the 15-week session, one in the summer session.
Fees stated below are for instruction only and do not include lesson books or other materials that may be necessary. Age requirements are up to the individual instructors. No refunds can be given after the session has begun.

Voice Lessons

Brad Lawson
Brad Lawson is a music graduate from Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. He was a T-Bird in the 2010-11 national tour of Grease the musical, playing the role of Roger. Brad recently felt the Lord calling him into ministry and will begin attending Moody Bible Institute in January. He currently is doing a music internship at his church, Christ Community Church of Plainfield, where he gives voice lessons to numerous students, including CCC’s worship leader. Brad has dreams of becoming a worship pastor and is excited to see how the Lord will continue to use him. Music 'N Me is a great opportunity for Brad to help others and use the gift of voice and teaching with which God has blessed him. Other lesson times may be available including weekends. Guitar Lessons

Jeremiah Sault
Jeremiah Sault has been teaching guitar playing and teaching guitar since he was 11 years old. He has received a certificate in Guitar Performance from Visible School in Memphis, TN. He is able to play by ear and well as read the chords/tab in guitar music. He has mainly studied the Blues and Rock styles of guitar music. Jeremiah has mastered the techniques of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and a lot of Stevie Ray Vaughan. He has also begun to master the techniques of Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Eric Johnson. Jeremiah has also been instructed on other techniques in jazz as forms and scales. He is currently the Intern Worship Leader at The Sanctuary in Bolingbrook, IL where he attends all praise team rehearsals and leads worship on Sunday mornings. No classes will be held the week of Mar 26-31.

Flute Lessons
Instructor Name:
Stacey Cahoon
Stacey is a senior at Neuqua Valley High School. She started playing the flute in fifth grade and is currently in the Wind Ensemble at Neuqua, the top band, as well as marching band. She has participated in the district’s solo and ensemble contests throughout middle school and high school. Outside of school, Stacey has also participated in numerous solo contests including The Festival of Flutes at the Sherwood Conservatory of Music at Columbia College in Chicago, the Chicago Flute Club, and has participated in church ensembles for special occasions. In 2011, she auditioned for, and was accepted by, the Youth Symphony of DuPage. Stacey really enjoys music and playing the flute and in her three years at Neuqua Valley, has been awarded three NVHS band scholarships to continue to learn new techniques and musical styles. In addition to playing the flute, she has been learning to play the piccolo, and has joined the “Klang” Ensemble at Neuqua which is an all percussion group that provides a rather unique way to learn more about music and sound combinations from traditional and non-traditional instruments. Drum Lessons

Eric Bruck
Eric has been playing the drums for over 20 years. He has played for symphonic band, pep band, marching band, drum line, and in the orchestra. Studying privately for over 10 years, he has played in several rock bands. As a result, Eric has extensive studio and live experience. Since 2004 he has been playing drums/percussion for the worship team at his church and has had the opportunity to lead rehearsal for the band occasionally. He has even performed in a Christian Concert at U.S. Cellular Field prior to a White Sox game! Eric has taught for over 2 years, and is now accepting students of all ages from beginning to intermediate on drum kit or snare drum/school parts. Other lesson times may be available by arrangement. Paul Barton is available for beginning piano lessons for ages 5-12, and for flute, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, trombone, baritone/euphonium, tuba, and percussion for ages 10 and up. Paul received a Master of Music in trombone performance from Ithaca College in 2005 and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Millersville University (PA) in 2003. Paul's nine years of teaching experience includes taching band in Philadelphia, teaching band and piano with Band for Today in Naperville, teaching marching band and general music in Atherns, GA, and an active private lesson studio. Clarinet/Saxophone/Flute Lessons

Steve Schnall
Steve Schnall has been an in-demand performer and educator of music in the Chicagoland area for over 15 years. He performs several styles of music on all of the saxophones, clarinets, flute, piccolo, piano, synths, percussion, and vocals. He received his Bachelors Degree in Saxophone Performance from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, his Masters Degree in Jazz Studies from DePaul University, and is in the final stages of completing his Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Illinois on full scholarship. He has performed with such musical luminaries as Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, The OJays, Al Jarreau, Brian McKnight, Diana Ross, The Winans Family, Gladys Knight, The Isley Brothers, Frank Sinatra Jr., Clay Aiken, Michael W. Smith, and many others. Steve will be offering private music instruction on the clarinet, saxophone, and flute at Alleluia! Adrienne Rufo has been studying voice privately since the age of 8, and for two years at the collegiate level. Her music knowledge comes from college level music theory in high school and studying theory along with ear training at the College of Dupage. She was also involved in a school choir while attending COD. Although no longer a music major, singing and continuing to grow as a musician are important aspects of Adrienne's life. Currently she teaches a mommy and me music class through The Music Suite, directs the JC Choir here at Alleluia!, and sings with the praise team during Sunday services and on other special ocassions. Adrienne has experience singing classical, musical theatre, and Jazz music. She is accepting students up through 8th grade. She will have set nights availiable to sign up for in the winter/spring session, but is currently accepting students now by arrangement.
